Highlights from my journey in music, radio, education, and film/TV sync supervision.
I have been releasing hip-hop/electronic music under the ‘Dubplates’ moniker for two years.
I have had a prolific run of releases which include an album, two mixtapes and an EP.

National Airplay and Editorial Support Across Australia's Top Radio Stations
My releases have garnered national support and airplay from stations including 3RRR, PBS, FBi Radio (NSW), Triple J, 2SER (NSW) and 2BBB Radio (NSW). My ‘COMING TOGETHER!’ EP was featured in both the Triple R and PBS weekly soundscapes, showcasing the best new releases in music.
Dubplates’ track 'Rigpa!' was featured in PBS FM’s Top Ten, showcasing the best in new and emerging sounds across Australia.
For my latest album and EP in particular, I placed heavy emphasis on a coordinated and structured roll out. Taking on all areas of promotion and marketing involved contacting radio stations, hosts and local DJs as well as constructing press releases. Additionally, uploading the releases to streaming platforms also involved experience with the Spotify UI and artist management pages and Distrokid. All album artworks were also sourced or designed by myself.
I produce and mix my tracks entirely on Ableton Live, a program I have used for close to six years and am extremely proficient in. Handling aspects such as sound design, synthesis, mixing and mastering all required meticulous, discerning production techniques and ingenuity. Overall, handling all areas of music releasing has seen me harness my self-sufficiency, adaptability and self-reliance.
Working industry job at Pulse Points
Following a successful internship placement, I was invited to have a paid, on-board role at Film and TV Music Supervision/Sync business Pulse Points. With selected productions including Beau Is Afraid (2022), Boy Swallows Universe (2024) and Lion (2016), the company places a heavy emphasis on creative input, collaboration and investigating the world of music specific to a story.
Since joining the team, I have been involved in projects including Heartbreak High and Apple Cider Vinegar, and I've had the opportunity to work with renowned production companies like Netflix, A24, and Plan B Entertainment. Collaborating closely with production teams and directors is a particularly enriching aspect of my role. This involves processes such as brainstorming alternative musical concepts for scenes, strategically navigating budgetary constraints, and adeptly problem-solving to find creative compromises. Furthermore, the position entails reviewing new music submissions for synchronization opportunities, liaising effectively with composers, and engaging directly with major labels such as Mushroom Records and Warner Music Australia. All facets of this work are accomplished within a compact team of four, necessitating structured and resourceful teamwork.
As a recent alumnus, I was invited back to my high school Albert Park College to partake in a music tutoring program. Directly working and engaging with students has seen me exercise organisation, engagement and teach skills within live performance, instrument practice and songwriting. My tutoring experience has spanned drums, music production and junior school rock bands. My time at Albert Park College has seen me assist students in preparation for their VCE Music Exams, performance showcase nights and coordinate percussion ensembles for the annual music concert. Relief teaching particularly required building authentic, new relationships with students which placed emphasis on designing lesson plans, incorporating student-to-teacher feedback and understanding each students’ drives, ambitions and musical interests. These were skills necessitated and delivered primarily within two-week windows of teacher absence, which meant that they had to be all noted, reflected on and relayed in a document.
Triple R Volunteering
For the past two years I have been volunteering at the prolific, perennial and iconic Melbourne community radio station 3RRR.
My volunteering work has encompassed podcast editing, writing and publishing website retrospectives and most recently, collating weekly music submissions for presenters.
The latter has not only provided me with an extensive knowledge and eye into the Melbourne music scene, but an understanding of an efficient, targeted, and cost-effective music roll out.
Capturing Live Sound
Another highlight of my volunteer work has been my involvement in live-to-air broadcasts. Typically collaborating within a team of four, my responsibilities ensured the seamless and technically proficient execution of these broadcasts. This encompassed the logistical aspects of stage assembly and disassembly, coordination of stage layouts, and thorough line and sound checks with performing artists.
Having previously experienced live music solely as a performer, this role provided an enriching, informative, and practical immersion into the live music industry. Notably, I contributed to the live setup and assembly for No Fixed Address (July 2023), Lower Plenty (November 2023), and The Underground Lovers (August 2024).
